BECOMING: Artificial reptile skin, scale patterns, rigid leather frills, fur that looks like feathers, materials used in reversed ways – pure becoming. Moving beyond the comfortable limits of a language that we use to describe things that are new or that we do not understand, the Becoming collection is an inquiry into the notions of what is real, what is fake, what is organic or artificial, natural or man-made. The shape and texture of the garments repeat in the accessories, creating a sense of camouflage when they are worn together. It is never quite clear what is imitating what, which was first, whether the shapes and materials are natural or technological.
